Fairtrade

WHAT FAIR TRADE MEANS Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade and it is based on partnership between producers and consumers. The movement advocates the payment of a fair price to producers as well as social and environmental standards to ensure food safety. Fairtrade guarantees a minimum price of $1600 per Metric tonne of cocoa, a social premium of $200 per Metric tonne and an extra premium when the world market price of cocoa falls below the guaranteed price of $2,000.
