New Executive Secretary for Kuapa Kokoo

Mr Apau Kwaku Abrampa Mensah has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary for Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union (KKFU). With this appointment, Mr Abrampa-Mensah – 49 – fills the Executive Director position left vacant about a year ago. 

The process of finding a suitable candidate to fill the vacant position began last year by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Kuapa Kokoo. According Mr Emmanuel K. Arthur the Managing Director of Kuapa Kokoo Limited (KKL) who was also in acting capacity as the Executive Director, out of the 45 personalities who applied for the position, 43 came from outside Kuapa Kokoo. He explained that only two employees of Kuapa Kokoo applied for the job of which Mr Abrampa-Mensah was one.

Mr Arthur intimated that the newly appointed Executive Secretary of Kuapa Kokoo has worked with Kuapa for over 14 years now rising through the ranks to occupy the current position. Mr Arthur made all this known when he introduced Mr Abrompa to the staff of Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union last Monday 3rd March, 2014. The event was attended by the staff of the various departments of KKFU.

The out-going acting Executive Director admonished the staff to work for the progress of Kuapa Kokoo.  This he said can be realized when staff decide to support and respect authority and whoever is chosen as a leader to lead the organization.

Speaking during the occasion, Mr Apau Abrampa-Mensah enumerated how his life at KK began and how he’s risen through the ranks to the current position. He shared his working experience over the years at Kuapa Kokoo with the staff gathered.

Mr Abrampa-Mensah informed the staff that he is assuming his role with a clear conscience and is prepared to work with every staff for the progress and good of Kuapa Kokoo. He said he acknowledges the challenges facing Kuapa and called for unity of purpose to overcome them and moved the organization forward.

The Executive Secretary advocated for collected effort in confronting any challenge Kuapa may be facing asking that the staff do eschew backbiting among them.

Mr Abrampa-Mensah has worked as a KKCU officer, Research and Development officer and as a District Manager of Amansie east before being appointed as the Executive Secretary. He has also work in other cocoa regions where Kuapa operates such as the Central Region, Brong - Ahafo, Western and the Ashanti Regions.
